It must be a day ending in “Y” because there’s a bunch of headlines about Donald Trump screeching about stupid shit. He’s back to babbling about Canada being the 51st state. He’s whining again about the Panama Canal. He’s rambling about buying Greenland and Cokehead Don Jr. flew out there to, I dunno, cosplay as a Serious Person doing Serious Things.
As always on the Trump Idiot Show, the stakes have been raised because now there are threats of military action to seize…Greenland?
This is not news. This will never happen. These are not even the ramblings of a demented moron because literally no one, not even the demented imbecile spewing this stuff, is serious about it.
So why is the legacy press tripping over itself to breathlessly report it as actual news?
Because it generates clicks and views and that means money.
Because they think we’re fucking stupid.
Because it keeps the public off-balance and produces fear and uncertainty.
Clearly, I’m going to have to write one of these articles at least once a month. because the fucking legacy press is working hand-in-hand with Trump to “flood the zone with shit.” This is what I wrote about a few weeks ago.
The legacy press knows this is all bullshit. They know it’s nonsense they should be brushing aside. But they’re not. And they won’t. They won’t because flooding the zone with shit allows them to ignore real stories they don’t want to talk about.
A couple of days ago, Senate Majority Leader John Thune said Pete Hegseth now has the votes to become Secretary of Defense. This would be the drunken rapist Pete Hegseth with the White Christian Nationalist tattoos. The guy who is manifestly unqualified for the job, even ASIDE from being a drunken rapist White Christian Nationalist.
Where are all the headlines about that? Where’s the legacy press leaping to defend the military they love so much?
Oh, right. They’re too busy talking about *checks notes* Donald Trump promising to block offshore windmill farms and something about rain and dishwashers.
Now, the press could say they’re trying to inform the public about how unhinged Trump is but that would be a fucking lie. They’ve been sanewashing Trump for a full decade now. They’re not going to start suddenly presenting him as unfit now. They’re too invested in protecting him. He’s their Golden Goose. And they’re afraid of him. One mustn’t speak ill of the Mad King lest he unleash his soon-to-be corrupt Department of Justice on you.
But, really, the press was protecting Trump long before he promised to punish them. He really is their money-maker and the more they can terrify the public, the more money the press can make. That means helping Trump put the most deranged people in his Cabinet and letting them loose to set the country on fire. Think of all the easy headlines as they abuse their power and scandal after scandal unfolds!
So, yeah, I’m going to have to keep jumping up and down about this for the next four years. Stop paying attention to the shiny objects Trump is giving the press to distract you. Stop letting the press divert your focus from what Trump is going to actually do.
Never forget that when the press wants to crusade, they can do it. They pushed the nation to talk about nothing but Hillary’s emails for a year. They hyperfocussed on Biden’s age. They lied about an imaginary recession for four years straight. When they have a narrative, they latch onto it like a dog on a bone and ignore everything else. The CAN ignore Trump’s bullshit and talk about news of real consequence.
They are choosing not to. And that is a deliberate choice made to help Trump accomplish the things he needs to do as quickly as possible. Don’t be manipulated by people siding with fascism.

Hegseth is bad, Gabbard will be magnitudes of order worse. It is highly unlikely she could pass a real security check. Gabbard will destroy U.S. Intelligence services and alliances completely and utterly. She will be a direct pipeline of information to Putin. Our allies will completely cut off sharing information. Our on the ground networks will dry up as the people in them will disappear or end up "mysteriously" falling out of 6th story windows.
Yesterday Mary Trump called it a "press conference". The quotation marks say it all. It was the lunatic ravings of a man the media will not say has no clothes. That they treated the event as normal confirms your points.
