"Trump Says Crazy Thing!" Who Gives A Shit? Ignore Those Articles

During the election, I paid attention to what Trump said because this was an insane treasonous person suffering from advanced cognitive collapse running for president. It was important to do whatever I could to break through the sanewashing of the legacy media. So. Much. Fucking. Sanewashing.
But, alas, there was too much propaganda, racism, and misogyny and Trump is waddling his way back to the White House. And…I tuned him out.
At first, it was just disgust with the legacy press and a disengagement from the news. I was far from alone in this as hordes of similarly disgusted voters said, “Fuuuuuck you!” to the media that had worked endlessly to protect their golden goose.
But even after I re-engaged with the news (I can’t very well write about it for you if I don’t know what’s happening, can I?😁), I realized I wasn’t paying attention to what Trump said. I was paying attention to what he did but I couldn’t give a fuck about what came out of his mouth.
It wasn’t just a visceral reaction to his voice and his hideous anus mouth.
I was also completely ignoring the slew of “Donald Trump Says” articles. “Donald Trump says something stupid about Canada.” “Donald Trump says something stupid about tariffs.” “Donald Trump says something stupid about Greenland/the Panama Canal/NATO/etc. etc.”
It’s all bullshit. None of it means anything. This is just Steve Bannon’s “flood the zone with shit” strategy. Pump out so much nonsense that the press can’t focus on any one thing. They did this constantly during Trump’s first four years.
What? Do you think Bannon REALLY wants to have Trump run again in 2028?
Motherfucker, please. Trump will be 82. He’s barely coherent now. He can barely walk now. In four years, assuming he doesn’t stroke out and die long before then from all of the pressure he’ll be under play-acting as Elon Musk’s puppet president, Trump will be a drooling vegetable.
Steve Bannon wasn’t actually suggesting he wants to run Trump again. He wanted the press to write dozens of articles about it. He wanted to generate anger and fear and keep people distracted. Surprise! The legacy press tripped over itself to oblige because of course they fucking did.

That’s all any of this is: Shiny objects to keep the press distracted. You know who’s not in the headlines while the Very Serious Media is wringing its hands over Trump’s Very Serious Plans to annex Canada? His Very Serious Plans to buy Greenland? His Very Serious Plans to reclaim the Panama Canal?
Pete Hegseth the alcoholic rapist who “mishandled” money from the two small veterans’ nonprofits he was fired from.
Kash Patel the ass-kissing sycophant who has almost no experience at all in law enforcement that Trump wants in charge of the FBI so he can politicize it in ways that would make J. Edgar Hoover blush.
Tulsi Gabbard the Russian asset who is so enamored with Putin and other violent dictators that her own party1 doesn’t trust her with classified information.
RFK Jr. the literal brain-damaged (ex?) junkie anti-vaxxer who likes to play with dead animals.
Boy, it’s almost like that was the point of flooding the zone with shit. That only works if you let it and the legacy press is more than happy to chase the shiny objects. But I’m not.

I don’t give a flying fuck what Trump says anymore. I only care what he does. Until he actually tries to buy Greenland or seize the Panama Canal or declare war on Canada, who gives a fuck what he says about any of it? It’s gibberish. None of it means anything. It’s all a distraction for the media to feed you to keep Trump’s crimes and incompetence out of the headlines.
Don’t waste your time chasing the shiny objects. Don’t give them oxygen. Definitely do not give the legacy press the clicks and eyeballs they want because fuck them.
The only kinds of “Trump says” articles you should pay attention to are the ones that explain WHY Trump is saying stupid shit. Like the fact that Trump has a lot of money laundering and tax evasion accusations in Panama.
The other kinds are the ones where Trump orders congressional Republicans to do something because regardless of how stupid or crazy it is, they have to respond in some fashion. So, really, you’re not so much paying attention to what Trump says but how Republicans are responding. Will they crash the economy because Trump is throwing a temper tantrum? Will they approve a $2 trillion dollar Tesla contract for Elon Musk because Trump is his puppet?2
Those are the only times we need to pay attention. If Trump is only spewing bullshit into the air without giving a direct order to Congress or declaring his intent to sign an executive order written for him by Elon Musk or Steven Miller, nothing he says matters. He’ll either forget what he said 10 minutes later, the next person he talks to will tell him to do something different and he’ll change his mind, or he’ll see a tweet from one of his Nazi followers and get distracted. Or he’ll just say it over and over and not follow through, trying to keep the press spinning in place and people afraid so they won’t pay attention to what he’s actually doing.
It’s really important to understand that the press knows they’re being used to do this and they do not care. We know the press can stay focused on a single story for months and even years. They were relentless in their coverage of Bill Clinton’s affair. They talked about nothing else but Hillary’s emails and Benghazi for years. Biden’s age and the imminent recession that never came? Four years non-stop. The legacy press can crusade when it wants to.
But with Trump, it never wants to. It just wants to make money.
Fear sells. Drama sells. Anger sells. But mostly fear and they will do everything possible to keep the public afraid and off-balance. It’s great for business and that’s all they care about.
We don’t have to play this game. Tune out the bullshit and only focus on what Trump and his regime of filthy criminals and genocidal monsters are doing. That’s how we hold them accountable.

I made that up but would any of us be surprised if Trump “suddenly” declared that all government vehicles purchased for the next twenty years had to be Teslas? No. No, we would not.
