Pete Hegseth is one of those "alpha" males. Unfortunately, unless another bombshell seriously derails his prospects with the more moderate GOP Senators like Susan Collins or Lisa Murkowski, he's going to be FDJT's defense secretary.

It's pathetic when a lickspittle like Marco Rubio is the most qualified person in that orange turd's cabinet. All for loyalty to Doll Hands over the U.S. constitution.

And, given what came out in his hearing the only war he plans on fighting is against leftists. His only coherent goals (such as they are) are to "remove wokeness" from the military academies and recruiting which he promises will bring back a "lethal" fighting force. Such a man will order troops to shoot American protestors in a heartbeat. He will not, however, be capable of defending the nation.

"...those who chafed at “woke doctrine” "

This crap is so ridiculous, it's another way of saying, people who refuse to evolve socially. There's a range of stuff that was "socially acceptable" in the 70s, that just isn't anymore, but it was never really "right". I grew up working in kitchens, ergo, I developed some, admittedly, pretty socially unhealthy habits, a lot of us (kitchen drones) did back then, I've since corrected that stuff cause it was -bad-, not because I had to be told it was. Arguing the point now, would be like telling the cop that pulled you over for speeding, that you were just "following traffic", well yeah, but you were -still- speeding. If I'm intellectually honest with myself, I look at some of my own behavior back then, and cringe, it's not that I was a horrible person, it's just that I've evolved with the times, and I'm capable of introspection, and self correction, self awareness is important, whether these clowns want to accept that or not. I don't always get it right, but I don't resent it if I'm in error and someone points it out, I simply correct the error. I genuinely don't understand how these presumably, grown ass men, are incapable of following the zeitgeist, it ain't some freaking "woke conspiracy", it's simple social evolution.

Agree!! Watch the reaction now that LA is burning. All those incredible creative type people who live there. LA - still the movie capital of the world and the selfish, self important jackasses, from Gulf States that have massive hurricanes, floods and tornadoes talking about “conditions” on the aid to California for fire relief.

Let those “creative types” and movie moguls along with their fans take you apart piece by piece along with your Fake Christianity (no real Christian would withhold aid).

Americans help each other you Republicans - lying, paid for, cowardly pieces of shit that pretend to represent the people when all you are actually doing is licking the boots of your rich overlords.

We see it - talking about Jesus while getting drunk and serially cheating on wives.

Who are you fooling - Not Jesus!

Sadly it does not work that way. The minute they (or the gays) get uppity the alphas will come down hard. They did when they backed Trump. If you look at what Hegseth and was told to say in his hearing it is all about hitting back.

I like the message here, but the truth is, very, very few sexual harassment cases actually see the light of day. Between NDAs that tie the hands of employees, the exorbitant costs of hiring a lawyer, and mediation that basically puts a gag on publicly shaming these companies in exchange for a settlement, women are still at a huge disadvantage. I swear, if I ever win one of those big lottery jackpots, I’m going to start a non-profit foundation for legal resource to pay the legal fees of women accusers. Because the big advantage companies have over individual employees is their deep pockets and outlasting the women who claim harassment by dragging out these cases. So, yeah, the “manly men” have once again been unleashed. They will not, I’m afraid, suffer any real consequences for their actions.

I have to agree. You saw the Notsees crawl out from under the rocks they lived once they recognized Trump was one of them the first time around. They have been emboldened and the few that were arrested on J6 will soon be free again. They do not and will not suffer any consequences for their deplorable actions going forward.

Being a dick **IS** what they really want. It’s not just making money, but making money by screwing people over.

Given the option of A) being very successful or B) being less successful but harming someone along the way the “dude bros” (the word “Republicans” fits equally well) will always choose B.

Because the cruelty is the goal.

Yep, these “pseudo- macho a-holes make life a hell for the targets of their sadistic behavior, for sure. But as bad as that is the fact that any child that is cursed to be raised by one of these sleazers is likely to grow up either learning to treat others in this way if they’re a son or learn to accept this abuse if a daughter. In some ways that’s the worst part, that this dysfunctional and cruel behavior is passed to the next generation unless the other parent is strong enough to counter this behavior effectively and make society a little safer for their children. I realize this behavior has been around for eons but to see it from the leader of the free world and

see it Filter down to those who model it because they feel they won’t be held responsible doesn’t bode well for our society.

I've always wondered about that "Go woke, go broke" thing. Like, if being woke is its own punishment, if the omnibenevolent free market will take care of the situation, why do you have to open your mouth at all? Why not just wait for your inevitable vindication?

One thing that the bankers said stuck out for me, "We love America and we love capitalism". OK, I get the capitalism thing, they're bankers, but to love America means, in a very real sense, that you have to love ALL the people in America. Because they ARE America.

And if you love America, rapacious greed and cruelty is not the way. Sure, be successful, enjoy the fruits of your labors but don't do it in a way that causes irreparable harm to America and her people.

Oh, and hands off the interns butt. It's not a good look, it never was a good look.
