Thank you for the heart felt note. RFK is an idiotic fraud. As a pediatric nurse practitioner in oncology I cared for several children/ adolescents with autism. They made my day brighter with their innocence and playful nature. I am horrified that RFK is the head of a federal department that should bring hope to all affected by chronic and devastating genetic disorders and other illnesses. The next 4 years are going to be tough, heartbreaking, and evil.

Connie, it will be two years or less. A nasty revolution would be preferable to this. Already farmers are regretting their vote for trump. But I hope to hell they suffer greatly for it. Orange Fascist Felon-Rapist-Seditionist showed what he was very clearly. I have ZERO sympathy for the monsters who knew exactly what they were voting for.

The UK doctor who started all the nonsense about vaccines causing autism, Wakefield was struck off the medical register for his involvement in The Lancet MMR autism fraud. In the uk, every time this resurfaces, the MPs, media, social, vocally shut it down. Still some idiots dont vaccinate their kids. so we had a measles outbreak last year.

He was paid off to find that non-connection, so a lawyer could win his "vaccine damage" case. Wakefield also sold kits detecting a disease he made up. He also had developed a competing vaccine to the MMR. So not all vaccines, evidently. He is scum and makes his living being an anti-vax quack, even though he knows better.

I was a paraprofessional that helped and was myself taught by autistic elementary kids. It was the best job I've ever had in my entire life. I loved those kids, and admired their amazing parents and the crap they have to go through to get the services they were entitled to. (We'll see how that goes with the future DOE, another thing pissing me off to no ends.) It makes me crazy that science has put to rest the myth that vaccines cause autism. They just don't. And I've always thought the lie was because people were just stupid. But your words make so much sense. And that they do enrages and saddens me. People can be pieces of shit. And RFK Jr. is the turd on the top.

I was as well, except at the high school level. I miss that so much; those students were wonderful. (Pay and evangelical coworkers, not so much.) The thought that dying of a preventable illness is a better fate than autism is nauseating.

I also worked part time at a daycare, and an unvaxxed kid brought in whooping cough, which I caught. I already had mild coughing asthma, and the lung damage was permanent. Now, if I catch a lower respiratory bug, I will spend months coughing until I vomit. I'm in a spell now, from a virus I caught in December.

Fuck antivaxxers.

It has amazed me that so many people who claim to believe in the Christian faith have no time for others who do not conform to the straight, white, "normal" concept of what a person should be. I'm no Christian, but my studies indicate that Christ loved everyone and said something along the lines that we are all God's children. So I guess even God gets to make a few errors - JFK, jr. is one of those errors. Our dear leader is another error. For all of the stupid things he has done and will do, appointing this poor excuse for a human being in any capacity other than janitorial should be considered a crime against humanity.

It has amazed me NOT AT ALL that so many people who claim to believe in the Christian faith actively work AGAINST the core precepts of their “faith”.

NOBODY in the world is less a Christian than those millions who make a point of claiming they are.

What kills me about RFK Jr. and people like him is that there are plenty of actual things actually hurting our children and us as adults in this country. Of course he and other people in power obfuscate the true enemy because, yk, money. Look how he used to fight for climate in court, and now he's... This. I don't think the brain worms alone are enough to pin the blame on. I know some conspiracy-minded people who were all in on him, and these were friends I respected, because their conspiracies used to be right. We are drinking water polluted with plastics, the Healthcare industry has no incentive to actually cure anything but instead make lifelong patients, God knows how much pollution is affecting our health, etc. They start out with these mainly true things. Then, like RFK Jr himself, they fall down this rabbit hole where nothing is ever true and truth is suddenly relative. Then, people like RFK Jr pivot their conspiratorial leanings into crackpot bullshit that's proven wrong and actively hurts people, like vaccines. And they're gone. Untied from reason, and having forgotten about the true enemy, which is the monied interests literally destroying us and the planet.

Totally agree with everything you said. I have grandchildren ages 3, 5, and 7. I have friends my age (mid 60s) with children in their 30s with severe autism. RFK Jr. is a menace and people, including pre-school children, are going to die because of him.

People aren't good at math so I am going to expand on the Samoa incident. 5700 out of 200,000 Samoans contracted the disease; that's nearly 3% of the total population. The 83 who died represented about 1.5% of those infected. Now scale that up to the United States, population 332 million. A 3% infection rate would result in nearly 10 million cases. A 1.5% mortality rate would be 150,000 dead, half of them kids. For ONE severe measles outbreak.

I really don't understand the people who think FREEDOM means the FREEDOM to watch your kids and grandkids DIE but that's exactly what they signed up for. I do understand that Putin and Xi and Kim and the rest of the dictators who want to see us destroyed are laughing their heads off.

Watching the country you love being destroyed by people whose heads are completely up their asses is not something I ever thought I would live to see.

Thank you Justin! I could NOT agree more. Differently abled PEOPLE have always been among us, and part of being civilized is accepting, cherishing, and supporting people who need it to exist in our society. I have never felt threatened around differently abled or non-neurotypical people. I can’t say the same about a lot of “normal” people. And the fact that RFK Jr would happily have your daughters die of sepsis also makes him contemptible and worthy of rotting in hell.
