do all these naysayers realize how effectively they're elevating Mamdani's political stature before he's even won the upcoming election? I surely hope not... they may smear him all the way to the presidency 🍸

This is also a backlash squarely aimed at Trump by the "I didn't vote for THIS" crowd. Maybe we actually can turn this ship around.

Fox's meltdown the other night was glorious. It was like their freakout when they first called the 2008 election for Obama.

Mamdami's primary victory should give Democrats fuel to be unapologetically themselves in the upcoming elections. Would an AOC or Mamdami win statewide in, say, Iowa or North Carolina? No. But Mamdami talked about affordability, cost of living, et al. He refused to let Republicans fear monger about immigrants and trans people by talking about topics that affected EVERYONE.

Hammer the GOP on cost of living, affordability and chaos wrought by the FDJT regime. That's how we win next year's midterms and this year's fall elections.

Hey, Wall Street—you allowed this regime and its UNAMERICAN leaders to take over the government. It’s time for you to stand next to us in controlling Don, a FELON & RAPIST of women (26, known) and at least one underage female at Epstein’s island. As yet, you allowed this by being pretty quiet. You want to have tradition and stay in NYC? Don’t you ALSO want Democracy to stay or are you really slobbering for dictatorship and more corruption? If you’re for the latter, buh-bye—go to FLA or TX. Many of us will sell our stocks and watch the country die knowing YOU brought it on yourselves.

I just visited my sister in France where she lives with her French spouse and two adorable French offspring. My sister had guaranteed extended paid leave after both births. The baby’s crêche (daycare) is FREE and wonderful. The toddler’s pre-K at a primary school that goes up to fifth or sixth grade is FREE and fantastic. I visited both, and was impressed by the teachers, atmosphere, and — omg — the school menus were insane! Organic everything! Fruits and veg and seafood! My sister has peace of mind while she works that her kids are safe and happy. And healthcare is excellent. One example: After birth, the system sends not only midwives and lactation consultants for FREE to your home; they also send a lady-garden expert for FREE to ensure the pelvic region heals well!! I mean…. if that’s socialism, sign me the frick up!

Traveling to other countries like France really reveals just how dystopian life in the US has become. Most Americans don't travel outside the country, or if they do, it's often a very controlled environment. So they don't realize what an unnecessarily harsh ethos we've come to accept as inevitable. That's what the media want us to think, that we couldn't possibly have all the things that Mamdani supports. But other countries have all that and more! And it works really well! And there are still rich people. I mean, seriously, the sociopathy of the current ruling class makes the Bourbon kings look like Mr. Rogers.

I haven’t lived in NYC since 1990, but I grew up there. And this turn of events is giving me SO. MUCH. JOY. You’re right. They will pull out every stop to brand Mamdani a terrorist and a communist, but so far, it’s not working. If you can afford it, give money to Leaders We Deserve—David Hogg’s organization—which was a major contributor to Mamdani’s primary campaign. It’s going to be a rough road from now until November, especially if Cuomo tries to run a spoiler 3rd party campaign—but I have confidence NY’ers will show up again. Let’s help pave the way.

I'd be more worried about Cuomo running as a spoiler if Republicans had a real candidate instead of a moron publicity whore.

Same, I moved away from Manhattan in summer of 1991 but this Mayor's race has me feeling at least a little bit optimistic.

This Floridian is bigly excited. I so hope Democratic “leadership”finally takes the hint. We want Mamdani-style politics and policies. Either get on board or get out of the way.

The plan is simple friends. Elect Socialist Democrats everywhere. Let no city be their haven. Make the millionaired and billionaired class flee from one city to the next city searching for tax havens. Eventually, they will be forced to leave the US and head for Mars. I hear Russia is actively looking for billionaires to steal from.

Mamdani proposed a 2% tax on those earning a million or more? Peanuts. To make NYC an even greater city? A win.

I am all for his common sense initiatives. Let us make him mayor. Adams and Cuomo will do all they can to split the vote.

There is a difference between a socialist and a Democratic socialist. Bernie is a Dem socialist. All it means is a Democrat who has more of a heart than Repubs.

It also is a fighter which we sorely need now.

By the time the mayoral election arrives, wall street and Republicans, and probably Cuomo, will have everyone believing Mandami was one of the pilots on 9/11. A Bin Laden reborn.

They want to have people believe it. And it might work in already MAGA territory, but this is NYC. People remembered Cuomo as Governor and rejected him. Showa goes nowhere which is right and proper. Mamdani has walked Manhattan talking with voters. He has a message that appeals to the non-millionaires living (and voting) in the city. Islamophobia and crying “Commie” just might not be a winning strategy.

“It’ll cause more crime”? Oh please 🙄 people who aren’t desperate, panicking about losing their homes or about being able to eat are a LOT less likely to commit crimes, you morons. Now, those same bankers (with a W) might well be committing their own white collar crimes…

The news that Mamdani won the primary in NYC has had me smiling. I live on the left coast, so no immediate impact for me, but I really want him to win and succeed. Take the best ideas from the best European cities and prove it can be done. It’s no longer a secret that the economy is better under democrats. It turns out that when people have their basic needs met, they’re a lot less likely to be criming and violent. That’s the next fact that we need to make clear to everyone.

Oh no a bunch of rich assholes will have toale do with slightly less and it won't affect their lifestyle at all. Oh the humanity.

I'm fucking tired of the billionaire class keeping their thumb on the scale in this country. I'm all the way on the west coast but I'm pulling for Mamdani. We need more like him and all of the old fossils in the Democratic party need to get out of the way and pass the torch to the younger generations or risk the party becoming irrelevant.

Yes! Thank you!! Progress is coming whether the fossils want it or not.

We WILL prevail. The country I've been waiting for, working towards, is coming and I sincerely hope I survive to see it!

We certainly have plenty to do, even after impeaching the president and every "cabinet member," like expanding the Supreme Court (AFTER impeaching at least three of them), overturning Citizens United, instating health care for all, and raising taxes on the ultra rich to pay for it all.

The Republikkkans want to go back to an idyllic time?

How about going back to the country that taxed the rich and funded public schools!
