Overcoming Despair With Pure Spite

Despair is easy but have you tried hating stupid people with every fiber of your being?

Democracy did not die in November of 2024 but the monsters have their knives out and it's up to us to keep them from their bloody work. Despair and surrender are what they want. Resistance is what they’ll get. Stay strong. We beat the fascists once and we’ll fucking do it again. 

I’m gonna be honest, last Wednesday, I just wanted to not…be. It would have been soooo much easier to just stop. Another four years of Trump? Except even worse this time? Never mind the crushing disappointment of watching the future disappear into a black void of fascism. Just having to keep listening to that bloated fuck garble the English language and the press lapping it up like the vomit-eating pigfucks they are was too awful to contemplate.

You’ll be pleased to know that this feeling did not last.

Was I actually thinking about suicide? No. Even in my angsty teen years, that was never my thing. It wasn’t until years later that I found the words to sum up why. If you’ve never seen 2006’s Southland Tales, please do not ask me to explain it to you. No one can explain it to you.¹

Regardless, among the many, many scenes in that movie that stand out in my memory, one really spoke to me. No. I did not consider suicide. I’m a pimp. And pimps don’t commit suicide.

But I did despair for a day. I really thought I was done with that sack of shit and his treason. I thought I could finally move on from his bullshit and focus on the rest of his treasonous party. But no. Millions of my fellow Americans voted for a fascist rapist because they were too fucking stupid to understand that Joe Biden did not make inflation go up.

They were also too fucking stupid to understand that Joe Biden’s policies did, in fact, lower the inflation they threw away democracy for. They also threw away their low unemployment. Their rising wages. Their growing unions. Their increased job security. Their roads and bridges being repaired. Their access to health insurance increasing. Their power against monopolies growing. All of that pissed away in a temper tantrum born of ignorance.

Cool. Now I’m going to be such a fucking asshole about it.

I spoke about this a month ago on the Og Pod but I am a creature of pure spite. The Rosarios, my father’s family, are as spiteful a group as you could ever hope to meet. My grandmother and my mother were just as spiteful which is why they got along with my father’s family so well, I suppose. Game recognizes game. That means I am the distillation of two bloodlines of spiteful motherfuckers. It’s in my genes.

I live for spitefulness. It fuels me in a way you cannot comprehend. I suppress it in my everyday life because, well, it’s not very conducive to being a good husband and father.

But now? I have zero reason to hold back. I want to wallow in the despair of Trump voters as he destroys the economy and their lives. Their cries of outrage will be the balm that soothes my soul. Part of me will weep for the innocent lives crushed as Republicans incompetently enact their agenda of cruelty. But for the rest? The ones who voted for their own destruction? Nothing but malicious glee and mocking laughter.

Let’s take a look at some of the faces already being eaten by leopards, shall we? Some of these I saw in other places but the Letters from God substack helpfully put them all together:

When Trump slapped tariffs on a bunch of stuff during his first term, it was a disaster. He started trade wars with China, Mexico, Canada and I lost track of who else. It cost US industries billions and accomplished nothing.

Trump wasted billions of taxpayer dollars to bail out the industries he was killing and the press just kind of shrugged it off. Remember how the press is always so eager to jump on every economic misstep when a Democrat is in office? Well, they couldn’t be fucking bothered when Trump was shitting the bed.

But with the size and scope of the tariffs Captain Dumbfuck is demanding this time, it will be impossible to cover up. Even for a complicit media.

Oh, you’re going to learn what a tariff is you stupid fucks. You’re going to learn the hardest way possible and when you cry your sad little tears over skyrocketing prices, all you’ll get from me is a very smug, “Eat shit and die.”

There’s more. So much more.

Yeah, I’ve seen posts like this in a few places. Trump and his Republican Party have been talking about nuking the DoE for years. YEARS. And these bootlicking imbeciles just figured it out?² Cry me a fucking river! I live in a blue state in a blue city. Jordan will probably be fine until we get through this and Democrats fix the disaster coming for the special needs community, especially those living in red states.

If you do not have a special needs child or know anyone who does, you need to understand why this is such a big fucking deal. Kids like Jordan require a range of services that are prohibitively expensive for the average family to afford. These services, however, are absolutely fucking vital, especially when these kids are younger. A year of speech therapy when an autistic kid is four is worth years of speech therapy when they’re older.

If you miss that window, it is time that cannot be “made up” later with a little extra work. Jordan had to be taught how to point to objects when he was two by a specialist. He had to be taught how to speak by a specialist when he was four and that took two full years to do that.

Trump is going to cut the money off for those services and while I feel bad for the kids who will be deprived, for the parents? The ones who voted for Trump? I feel nothing but contempt. May your lives be full of misery and pain as you watch your child struggle. This is, after all, what you voted for. Congratulations! You got exactly what you wanted. Doesn’t it feel so fucking good?

Maybe you can explain to your kid why their life is a nightmare because mommy and daddy were mad over the price of eggs. I’m sure they’ll understand why you destroyed their future and forgive you for being terrible parents.

In the same vein, I’m really looking forward to the wailing and gnashing of teeth from the Latino community as Trump tears them apart. More than half of Latino men voted for mass deportation? Cool.

Who, do you suppose, ICE is going to target first? Hint: Latino men.

Oh, I know. You’re one of the GOOD ones. That’ll never happen to you!

Keep telling yourself that, buddy. I’m sure it’ll be of great comfort when you’re in the back of an ICE van on the way to a deportation center concentration camp.

“But I have papers! I’m a US citizen!”

Not anymore, fuck-o! Stephen Miller had your citizenship revoked. Why? Because you’re Latino and you have to go. That’s literally it. Nothing else.

“But I was born here! I’m a US citizen!”

They. Do. Not. Care.

Which part of the “WHITE” in “white fucking nationalism” is not clear to you, you dumb motherfucker? You are Latino. You. Are. Not. White.

Oh, a lot of us are white enough to pass, for sure. But millions of legal Latino residents who voted for Trump are not and they’re going to be shocked, SHOCKED!, when they get scooped up in the coming immigration raids. And if not them, it’ll be their friends and family. When Abuela is dragged off to a concentration camp, how do you look her in the eye and tell her, “But a gallon of milk was expensive last summer!”

Don’t expect me to comfort you. I’ll be too busy fake crying.

I’ll also be shedding all of those crocodile tears when Trump and his party deliberately tank the economy within a year. That is their explicit plan. I’ll get into why later this week but they’ve stated this as their goal.

First, they’re going to tell you how amazing the economy is starting January 25, 2025, and you fucking morons are going to believe it because the press is going to play along as well. No more talk about a recession being JUST AROUND THE CORNER! And omg! Have you seen how amazing “Trump’s” stock market is?! What a master of the economy he is!

Why, he’s such a genius, we shouldn’t question anything he does! And when unemployment spikes and wages drop, well, that’s just normal. When prices go up, don’t pay attention to that. When rents don’t go down, hey, whose fault is that? Probably immigrants so we’ll have to deport more people!

When the economy implodes, as it always does under Republicans, all of the people who voted for them will be stunned that things didn’t magically improve. What happened?! Wasn’t getting rid of Democrats supposed to make things better?! Didn’t Trump promise to fix everything?! Why are things worse and why aren’t Democrats DOING SOMETHING to save us?!

Why? Because fuck you, that’s why. You getting what you asked for. Better, you’re getting what you deserve. Trump voters deserve to suffer. They deserve to be miserable and feel the pain of consequences. I want them to spend the next four years living with the same kind of fear they so gleefully pushed on us.

Will I lose my job? Will I lose my health insurance? Will I be deported? What happens if my kid’s school gets defunded? Why are prices so high again? This isn’t what I voted for!

But it is. It’s exactly what you voted for. You voted for cruelty and chaos and economic destruction. If you didn’t know that, then fuck you for being too fucking stupid to know what you were voting for.

You lit a match and threw it in a puddle of gasoline. A puddle we were all standing in. And now you expect me to feel bad for you because you’re on fire and you don’t understand why it hurts so much? Sorry, I’m all out of fucks to give. I’m over here burning, too. There was a moment of despair, but then I realized how much I’m going to enjoy watching you burn with me. Trust me, it makes it way more fun for me than it will be for you.
