Thank God some of these enforcers have a conscience....

NOW, WILL THEY QUIT THEIR JOBS?

Has Goebbels reincarnate Stephen Miller's crimes been realized by his SS?

If they won’t quit their jobs, if they haven’t ALREADY quit their jobs, then no, they don’t have any conscience.

Suggesting that they do is making excuses for monsters. We need to stop doing that.

Yeah except I have a friend whose nephew has been in the FBI for a decade investigating cartels.

He’s been pulled off and ordered to report to ICE.

He’s miserable. He didn’t vote for TFG and strongly disagrees with these policies.

He does not want to quit his job at the FBI and doesn’t want to go to ICE.

If this is a common occurrence, and I’m betting it is, we will lose many competent and experienced FBI agents. These people chase down human traffickers, drug cartels, etc..

Bastards. I hope this administration is torn to pieces.

If someone at a federal agency has been working towards retirement, they may not feel they have a choice. There are so few jobs any more that have any possibility of a retirement package that protecting them, especially if they have only a few years, becomes a lot more understandable, right? Trust me, unless you're already well ensconced in a career, NOBODY wants to hire a 50+ yo person for ANYTHING.

I don’t deny at all that it’s a painful choice, but it remains a choice.

And they are choosing to kidnap people, including children, they *know* are innocent and send them off to places where they *know* they will be tortured and quite possibly killed.

That may be a painful choice, but it shouldn’t be a hard one.

I get not wanting to quit your job at the FBI or a similar place where you have felt like you were doing good. But when the place you’re working at changes so that it is no longer that place? So that it’s the *opposite* of that place?

How strong does the nostalgia have to be for you to continue to work at a place where your job is now aiding fascists?

I do wonder how many of them are being forced to participate or lose their jobs.

Btw- I’m not sure who’s hiring ex FBI agents and he does have a family to support.

Perhaps he’ll intervene or convince others to intervene.

I also have it on good authority that the army forces aren’t happy about it either.

I’m sure the deployed Marines would rather be elsewhere.

“You must arrest people you know to be innocent and set them off to be tortured or you will lose your job.“ is not a threat that anyone should have a problem responding to correctly.

Nobody is being “forced“ to participate. They’re not being bodily dragged to the scene with somebody literally twisting their arm until they kidnap citizens. They are all perfectly capable of saying that they won’t participate.

If they haven’t quit yet, it’s because, bottom line, they’re OK with what they’re doing. They’re OK with being Nazis.

And when we put them on trial, “It made me a little uncomfortable, but not enough to quit.” it’s not gonna be the winning defense they think it is.

»»”They chafed at rules set under the Biden administration, which prioritized the deportation of serious offenders but generally took a hands-off approach to those who hadn’t committed crimes.”««

Read that last part again. They were bothered by rules which prevented them from arresting people **who hadn’t committed crimes.**

Nobody with that twisted mindset should ever be allowed within light years of a position in law-enforcement.

Yeah, that's a major red flag. I personally think we need tighter regulations regarding law enforcement: NO WHITE SUPREMACISTS. I honestly think that people with the kind of hatred for non-white people makes should disqualify them. We've given in to social media surveillance, so using it FOR human rights would be something positive.

The tolerance for police mistakes or abuse should be very, very small if existing at all.

Yes, it’s a difficult and demanding job. But applicants should know that going in and know that screwing up is going to cost them that job.

When your paramilitary cosplay squad starts sobbing because fascism doesn’t come with a wellness plan, it’s hard to muster sympathy.

ICE thought they were signing up to be action movie heroes—turns out they’re just glorified grief harvesters for the ghost of Stephen Miller’s humanity (RIP). Now they’re mad the script sucks and the villain keeps rewriting it mid-shoot.

Let them be miserable. Exhaustion is a holy beginning. Burnout might just do what conscience couldn't.

Meanwhile, the rest of us will keep punching upward—because the revolution won’t be polite, and it sure as hell won’t be trauma-informed for fascists.

Be the light. Or be the fuse.

I hope that the professionals stay. Their conscience will infect others. I know people will believe in the lowest common denominator of human behavior, but I don’t. The police who are under the direction of local jurisdiction authority must intervene and ensure that the law is being followed. No masks. Ids visible. Right now we the people cannot tell a professional ICE employee from a profiteer, so we protest them all. Oh, do not confuse my thoughts here with giving a shit about their boo-hoos. Take your mask off, show your id openly and proceed professionally not like a gang of dogs chasing table scraps.

THANK YOU! This is REALLY positive, at least I think it is. You're right, the decent people have already quit (and we should be looking for them and turning them to our cause!), and the awful ones are pariahs in decent society.

And a HUGE thank you to EVERYONE who's been helping with neighborhood ICE watchers, advance warning efforts, and shaming and harassing agents, making their miserable jobs miserable FOR THEM.

FUCK ICE.

It won’t be zero, imho, once the flipping starts; my concerns are how long that might be and worse, what new hell will transpire first to promote that behavior/awakening. No doubt it will get worse, but will it get *worst* before the ranks within take a stand. Because otherwise, they’ll be forced to take THE stand. No excuses
