Regarding the midterms, I think that if 45 and his cronies do what they are doing now with politicizing natural disasters and making every single topic of discussion political, that’s only going to hurt them and they will be refuted HARSHLY in 2026.
It’s utterly disgusting and reprehensible that they want to play politics with people’s lives and capitalize on their suffering to score political points and I firmly believe that the people won’t stand for it.
And yeah, they won’t be able to turn this country into their dream dictatorship in a year and a half. It took Hungary (I believe) over a decade to firmly establish their authoritarian government and they don’t have the robust democracy that we have in place to counter authoritarian actions. They will try and fail miserably and they will be punished for it in 26.
And even then, they are so disorganized and fight with themselves so much that once again, with their slim house majority, good luck getting anything beyond immigration and taxes passed.
Democrats need to organize and get their shit together . They have opportunities with all minorities that are being fucked over after giving their side of deal they get screwed again .
