End The Criminal Cases Against Trump? Maybe Fuck Off With That Bullshit
What part of "No one is above the law" is not clear?
Democracy did not die in November of 2024 but the assholes have their knives out and it's up to us to keep them from their bloody work. Despair and surrender are what they want. Resistance is what they’ll get. Stay strong. We beat the fascists once and we’ll fucking do it again.

There’s a lot of shit a president does in office that is not, strictly speaking, legal for the average layperson to do. For instance, you and I do not get to order a drone strike on a terrorist leader and kill several civilians in the process. As much as I would like to, I cannot order the firebombing of a city.1
But presidents have a lot of latitude because, well, they’re the president. But that doesn’t mean they’re kings who exist outside of the law. That was, quite literally, the entire point of the American Revolution. We were tired of being held hostage to the whims of a single man with absolute authority and zero accountability.
Now, Republicans desperately want to return to those good ol’ days because democracy is a slow road to extinction for them. Their goals of oligarchy and theocracy and white nationalism are 100% incompatible with our diverse and pluralistic nation. They require a dictator who can rule by fiat and the Supreme Court said that presidents are, in fact, dictators. Maybe!
But Trump’s crimes were not committed as official acts of the office of the President of the United States. And his crimes in NY back in 2016? He wasn’t even fucking elected yet!
But somehow, this is what we get from the New York fucking Times:
Oh fuck you, you fucking fascist apologists.
Trump is going to have his corrupt AG, whoever it is, Matt Gaetz the child trafficking pedophile or not, kill the federal charges against him. That’s already bad enough because let me tell you something, if (when) Joe Biden pardons his son before leaving office,2 the same people who are going to scream about abuse of power are going to be just fine with Trump exonerating himself.
Those people will truly define what fascism in America looks like.
But the state charges? Trump can’t erase those. He can’t pardon himself. The Supreme Court isn’t supposed to step in to rescue him.3 And he was already found guilty of 34 felonies. But, you know, who gives a shit? This is Trump we’re talking about!!!
Then there are the state charges, over which President Trump will have no control. A central pillar of American democracy is that no man is above the law. But Mr. Trump isn’t an ordinary man.
The theory here, if one is generous enough to call it that, is that since the charges brought against Trump were novel, they seem political so we should get rid of them.
Ok, let me unpack how fucking stupid that is.
First: The charges were in fact novel, in the sense that no one had ever been charged with them before. That was not because DA Alvin Bragg was “out to get Trump." They were novel because the crime itself was novel. It wasn’t particularly sophisticated and they weren’t very smart about it, but no one had actually committed that particular crime in that particular way for the express purpose of interfering with an election before.
Just because Trump and his co-conspirators were the first to do it doesn’t mean they didn’t fucking do it or that it’s political to charge them with a crime. To suggest otherwise would set a precedent that novel crimes should be excused because of their novelty. What kind of imbecile would even think that? Oh, but wait.
Mr. Trump isn’t an ordinary man.
Eat a bag of dicks. That’s what they said about Hitler and you know what? A bullet blew his drug-addled brains out when he pulled the trigger just like anyone else. Guess Hitler was pretty fucking ordinary, after all. And so is Trump.
The second part of why this is so insulting: We’re supposed to get on board with this to stop Republicans from pursuing politically motivated prosecutions.
A. That ship has already sailed. Whoever Trump installs as AG will absolutely pursue a very long list of revenge prosecutions. Joe Biden. Hillary Clinton. Anthony Fauci. Barack Obama. General Mark Miley. Nancy Pelosi. Everyone Donald Trump hates and thinks wronged him will be investigated and brought up on charges of, I dunno, “being mean to Trump.” They will not care if the charges against Trump are dropped.
B. The real underlying message here is that we have to cater to the feelings of Republicans:
The New York case was brought by a prosecutor elected in Manhattan, where more than 80 percent of voters cast their ballots for Ms. Harris; that is also where the jury was drawn from. The Georgia case was brought in Fulton County, where more than 70 percent of voters cast their ballots for Ms. Harris. That is where the prosecutor was elected, and it is where the jurors would be drawn from.
Democrats should imagine instead that charges were brought in Texas and Alabama against Joe Biden using novel and untested approaches challenging how he spent money while campaigning. Those cases would be brought by hard-core Republican prosecutors, before juries and judges in deeply Republican counties. The justices of the State Supreme Courts would have all been selected in partisan elections. Every single one is a Republican. That would seem outrageous.
And there it is. “Don’t hold Republicans accountable! They’re going to feel persecuted and treated unfairly!”
I cannot express in words the depths of my contempt for this kind of reasoning. This is the language of abuse. This is blaming the victim for the violence their abuser visits upon them. Don’t make him angry or it will be your fault if he hits you!”
How fucking dare you? Have you no shame? No dignity? Are you THAT fucking eager to bow and scrape to fascism before it even takes power? My god, how do you look in the mirror and not vomit at the sight?
Just to be clear: Dismissing the charges to avoid the appearance of being political is itself a political act. A wholly political act designed not to preserve democracy, as this rancid op-ed claims, but to appease Republicans while spitting in the face of Democrats.
If Harris had won, I promise you, this same EXACT SAME FUCKING op-ed would have been run. “To heal the nation” blablabla. It’s ALWAYS about reaching out an olive branch to people who, without fail, douse the branch in Naplam and set it on fire. And then piss on the ashes while laughing at how stupid we were for trying to treat them like civilized humans instead of the screeching soulless animals they are.
Fuck these fascist shitheels. I’m tired of them being treated like spun glass. If they’re too goddamn fragile for the real world where actions have consequences, they should stay home and let the grownups run things while they hide in their safe spaces.

Staten Island is not technically a “city,” it’s a borough of a city. But ask any New Yorker and they’ll tell you how much they hate it.
Just fucking do it. Who gives a fuck what anyone says? They voted for Trump. They can suck your balls, Joe.
Not that they won’t try, anyway.
I guess the NY Fucking Times forgot how often the GOP shops to bring cases in front of hard line religious/nut job judges in certain states so they can thwart the will of the people. Does Judge Kaczmarek ring a bell? 🙄
Conservatives, or their ilk, have been against America since it's very inception.
There were 'Anericans' who conspired against us during the Revolutionary War, they called themselves 'Monarchists'. They worked to keep the colonies under the King's thumb.
During the Civil War, the were called 'Confederates' and declared war against the United States.
During WWII, American Nazi sympathizers worked to tear down our democracy and remake it in Hitler's image.
During the era of McCarthyism, American Conservatives worked against educators, the military, the State Department and other civil servants in the name of patriotism.
And now, MAGA continues the tradition of Americans working against America.
