The thing you need to know with dried beans, is you need to BOIL THEM HARD for at least 10 minutes to remove toxins (especially red kidney beans). Then cook more gently till soft. This means you can't just put dried soaked beans into a slow cooker/steamer. A pressure cooking Instant Pot is fine though.
